Deciding on a career in the business world gives students the opportunity to choose from a wide range of occupational choices. A bachelor degree in business administration gives students the skills they need to become successful in the business industry.

Studies included in a bachelor degree in business administration program are financing, business law, economics, information technology, operations and strategies, and marketing. A four-year program also allows students to specialize in a specific aspect of business. Depending on their interests and abilities, they may choose to specialize in accounting, human resources, marketing, and a number of management specialties such as operations, information systems, or supplies’ management.

Those students that like to work with numbers and figures may choose to work in the accounting department of a business. They could work as accountants, bookkeepers, and auditors. Bookkeepers record financial transactions of a business that include information on the income of the business and its employees, and business sales and purchases. Accountants prepare this financial information and keep records for business management and for a business’s shareholders. Auditors evaluate this financial information ensuring that a business is able to verify the costs of running the business. The auditing process in business now also includes areas such as safety and security.

For those students who enjoy communicating with, and being around people, working in the human resources department of a business may be the ideal career choice.
